Newcomer Asylum Seeker/Refugee Peripatetic Team
We help with the integration and achievement of newcomer pupils and their families.
What we do?
- We work with services, for example: Health, mental health, Police.
- We support school admission.
- We support the induction of newly arrived pupils.
- We raise awareness of asylum seeker issues.
- We assess new pupils and support teachers in target setting.
- We provide advice about resources.
- We provide training for school staff and outside agencies.
- We provide curriculum support at all levels.
- We provide pastoral support for pupils, parents and teachers.
- We work with Liverpool Community College, on the 'ESOL Young Learners', a program.
- We develop pupil and family learning projects which help promote integration.
