Ethnic Minority and Traveller Achievement Service: EMTAS

Liverpool is the 'World in one City' and is home to many different people.
For hundreds of years lots of communities have played a part in our history.
It's believed that we have the oldest Chinese community in Europe and we have had a Black community since 1750.
We have provided refuge for people escaping danger in their own country.
We are home for overseas students, who attend further and higher education.
Over 8000 minority group learners now attend Liverpool schools.

We work alongside schools and the Strategic and Intelligence Team (SIT) collecting data relating to Minority Group pupils in Liverpool.
This helps understand Liverpool's population and helps support pupils.
Attainment data is collected at Key Stages 1, 2, 3 and 4.
2009 Attainment Data
3 year trend of the major ethnic minority groups in Liverpool.
Ethnicities represented by 5 or fewer pupils have been edited to protect confidentiality.
If you require any other information, please contact either Barbara Higgins or Colin Chow.
