Zoo's (Zoo licensing Act, 1981)

A licence is required from the Council for any premises, other than a circus or pet shop, where wild animals are kept for public exhibition, normally known as Zoo's.

Licences are granted initially for four years with periodical inspections within that period by the local authority.

The fee for this licence is £250.00 which must accompany the application form and includes an initial inspection by a veterinary surgeon nominated by secretary of state.
