Liverpool City Council is also responsible for the following licences:

How do I make an application for a licence?

You will need to complete an online application form and seubmit it together with the relevant fee.

Will tacit consent apply to your application?

No. Your licence will only be issued to you when all necessary inspections/ checks have been carried out and the premises meet the required standards. The licence, once issued, may also list additional site specific conditions. New applications require the applicant to appear before the Council's Licensing Committee.

How much is the fee?

  • Pet Shop £165.00.  Find out more information on pet shop licences
  • Pet Shop puppies and kittens - £165.00This does not include veterinary fees.
    Dangerous Wild Animals £137.00 - This does not include veterinary fees.
  • Boarding establishments £118.00
  • Zoo  £1120.00   
  • Breeding establishment £118.00 
  • Riding Establishment £137.00 - does not include veterinary fees

What do I get for the fee?

The fee includes a site visit by an Enviromental Health Officer, RSPCA and a Licensing Officer.
The fee does not include any veterinary fees.
