Club Gaming Permits and Club Machine Permits

On 1st September 2007 the Gambling Act 2005 came into force which transferred responsibility for the issuing of Club Gaming Permits and Club Machine Permits from the local magistrates court to the Licensing Authority (the City Council). Your existing permit will be treated as a Club Gaming Permit (the old Part II) or a Club Machine Permit (old Part III) under the Gambling Act 2005. Club Gaming Permit 
This allows a club up to 3 Gaming Machines made up of category B4, C or D gaming machines plus equal chance gaming similar to the current Part II registration. 

Club Machine Permit
This allows a club up to 3 gaming machines which may be from Category B4, C and D machines, but not any other form of gaming. 

Under the Gambling Act 2005, premises with Club Gaming Permits and Club Machine Permits will be subject to a new Code of Practice. To view the Code and information about the four different categories of gaming machines (A - D) please visit the Gambling Commission website.

Renewing your Permit
If you wish to renew your permit you must apply to the Licensing Authority at least 2 Months before your permit is due to expire. Where the application is made at least 2 Months before your existing permit expires, continuation rights will apply and you will;be able to operate even if your application has not been resolved by that date.

Both the Club gaming Permit and Club Machine Permit will be valid for 10 years. However you will have to pay an annual fee of £50.00 to the Licensing Authority.
