Private hire - proprietors
To obtain a private hire proprietors licence you should make an appointment to attend at the one stop shop located in the Municipal Buildings Dale Street. If you do not obtain an appointment you will not be seen. Please ring 0151 233 3015 for an appointment which you must attend in person.
When you attend for your appointment you will need to provide the following original documentation before a licence can be issued.
- A certificate of insurance for the vehicle which must include for private hire and reward. The insurance document must be in the name of the person who is licensing the vehicle.
- A certificate of compliance for the vehicle passed by an approved testing station.

- A fee of £130 new vehicles
- a fee of 120 renewal of vehicle
- A registration document and proof of ownership.
