Revalution 2005
The five-yearly revaluation of all Non-Domestic properties nationally takes effect from 1st April, 2005: the new rateable values are based on the market price at 1st April, 2003.
In October, 2004, many ratepayers will receive from the Valuation Office, details of their proposed new rateable values in the form of a summary valuation.
If you have any queries regarding your 2005 summary valuation you should contact the Valuation Office Helpdesk on - 0845 6021507.
You can also find more information from a new Government website that has been created - www.mybusinessrates.gov.uk.
The Government has announced that 'Transitional Arrangements' which have been in place since National Non-Domestic Rates were introduced in 1990, will continue for the 2005 List.
However, the scheme to be introduced for 2005, will apply for a maximum of 4 years and by law it must be self-financing - previous arrangements have been supported by Central Government funding.
