Liverpool City Council - expected of you

What will be expected of you when working for the Council

There are procedures in place for monitoring the performance of all organisations undertaking contracts for Liverpool City Council. You will be monitored to assess your compliance  with pre-defined performance criteria.

Once awarded a contract, you must pay particular attention to the following...

Your organisation must be capable of delivering the requirements of the contract. You should be aware that these are strictly applied, especially with regard to quality and general performance.

The Council is continuously striving to improve its own performance and it expects organisations working for it to do the same.
The Council will look seriously at the position of any organisation that fails to perform to the levels required and agreed in the contract.

You will be asked to comment on any adverse performance that is reported, but you should be aware that serious instances of poor performance could lead to your organisations suspension, or termination of the contract.
Adverse performance would include, but not be limited to areas such as:

  • Poor quality of work/services/supplies
  • Poor site supervision
  • Poor adherence to the contract specification or timetable for completion
  • Poor control of sub-contractors
  • Poor health and safety practices
  • Persistent failure to deliver to agreed terms

Variations to a contract may be necessary from time to time. We will always request variations in writing, except in an emergency where instructions may be made verbally but will be confirmed in writing.

General performance of a contract is monitored and recorded for future reference.
