Do keep an eye out for adverts appearing in:
  • the supplement to the Official journal of the EC.
  • the local and national press.
  • Trade publications.
  • Liverpool City Council's Website.
  • The Chamber of Commerce Website.       
Don't make persistent phone calls regarding the status of your tender application.
Do ensure that your submission reaches us by the deadline and is sent to the correct address.Don't place identifying marks on your tender envelope.
Do ensure that you have proof of postage.Don't ask for meetings to discuss your application or tender - regulations prohibit this.
Do ensure that your organisation can really provide the goods, services or works to the high standard specified in the contract.Don't expect the Council to vary its contract terms significantly.
Do ensure that you study the contract documents carefully.Don't assume you can submit an "off the peg" tender response.
Do ensure that you have:
  • Named an account manager.
  • A published escalation path to Director level.
  • Provided e-mail addresses, telephone and mobile numbers for key staff.     
Don't forget to ask for a debriefing if you are unsuccessful.

Don't take it personally if your bid fails -competition for Liverpool City Council contracts is fierce.
