Chambers of trade
To help Merseyside companies do well in an international market, the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has created an Export Team.
The team is made up of staff with a great deal of experience in import and export. They can give firms who have joined the LCCI advice about a number of issues. These include procedures, documentation and grants.
They also offer a range of international seminars to help raise awareness of different world markets. The team has access to Objective One Funding. This means they can help firms who want to attend international exhibitions and visit new overseas markets.
Also, the Department of Trade and Industry has paid for a mission programme that allows the LCCI to help firms who export goods and services to other countries.
LCCI members are sent regular bulletins that include international news, worldwide business contacts and export opportunities.
