Becoming self employed may seem a good idea, especially if you become unemployed or redundant.
One of the good points to being self-employed is not working for somebody else. But there are several things you should consider. These include not being sure of a regular income, having to arrange your own sick pay and pension, and probably having to work long hours.
If you are thinking of becoming self-employed, but do not know what you want to do, consider something which uses your experience or skills. This may be something which you have previously done as a hobby.
Becoming self employed is a major step to take. It can feel very daunting. However, there is plenty of help available to help you decide how to do so, and in the most practical way.
