The Atlantic Gateway SIA stretches from the edge of Liverpool City Centre, to beyond the city boundary to Seaforth in the Borough of Sefton.  It also stretches from Seaforth in the west, to the Switch Island M57/M58 junction in the east, where it links to the national motorway network.  The part of the SIA inside Liverpool is called "Northshore".

At the heart of this SIA is the successful Port of Liverpool.  The port remains a major gateway for Merseyside, the North West region and Europe to Ireland and the rest of the World.

Key projects in this area will:

  • make the best use of local and port related industry;
  • sort out traffic problems;
  • build a sustainable office quarter and Town Centre in Bootle;
  • bring an exciting leisure/tourism redevelopment to the Stanley Dock; and
  • strengthen residential communities and improve the environment.

The key delivery agency speaking to firms, and finding the money to build these projects within Northshore, is Liverpool Vision

Liverpool Vision is working to build the New Wellington Employment Park project together with its private sector partner Langtree Developments.  This scheme will also see road and other environmental works to the area around the Employment Park.
