Liverpool Neighbourhood Regeneration Programme
Liverpool First has a new approach to deal with the problems of the city's poorest area. This new approach is called the Liverpool Neighbourhood Regeneration Programme (LNRP). It will help agencies to help in joined up ways to reach key priorities.
It uses a range of funds to do this, including £34million from the Merseyside Objective 1 Programme.
The programme is overseen by a group from:
- local Pathways representatives;
- Liverpool First members;
- Greater Merseyside Learning and Skills Council;
- Job Centre Plus;
- Merseyside Network for Europe;
- Liverpool Council for Voluntary Services.
The Council manages the programme for Liverpool First. It can be used to pay for activity to support local people; to break the cycle of decline. The types of activity covered include:-
- skills and training
- environment
- crime and employment.
The scheme will:-
- be easier to apply for than traditional Objective 1 funds;
- offer a single point for projects to apply for all their money;
- to better use funding from many sources on locally agreed priorities;
- spend money quickly and within EU funding targets; and
- increase local involvement in deciding how the money is spent.
The programme covers:
- North Liverpool
- Stanley
- Alt Valley
- Dingle
- GranbyToxteth
- Liverpool1
- Eastern Link
- Speke Garston
- Netherley Valley.
