Liverpool City Council - cooling towers

Cooling towers

Do I need to register cooling towers at my business?
If you have a cooling tower or evaporative condenser in operation that contains water exposed to air, you must notify the local authority for the area in which your premises are based.

View the Cooling towers online registration form.

If any changes are made to the particulars of the notice, then these must be notified within one month.

If the tower or condenser is made redundant or permanently taken out of service; then you must notify the local authority as soon as possible.

Telling the authority
You should tell the Health and Safety Unit in writing.    View the current register of cooling towers in Liverpool. (PDF [168Kb] opens in new window)
