Who needs to register?
Anyone carrying on the practice of acupuncture or the business of tattooing, ear piercing or electrolysis in Liverpool must register both the persons and premises involved.

How do I register my business?

Limited Companies
In the case of a Limited Company, the full name of the company and the address of its registered office must be entered on the registration form.

Partnerships
In the case of a partnership, the full names and addresses of all the partners must be entered on the registration form.

What if the business changes ownership?
Where a business changes hands, any new proprietor must register the premises in his or her name.

Is there a charge for registration?
Yes, there is a charge for registration. Please telephone 0151 233 3000 and ask for a list of our discretionary charges.

What do I do once I have registered?
An Inspector will visit and assess the suitability of the premises before registration is approved. You must then display a copy of the registration certificate on the premises.

How do I apply to register?
The application, accompanied by the fee for registration, should be made to the Health and Safety Unit.
