Arts and Cultural Investment Programme (ACIP) grants
Expressions of interest for the 2012-15 ACIP portfolio are now being invited. ACIP is the main city council funding programme for culture in the city. The current ACIP is due to end in March 2012.
Over the last year we have carried out a review of the criteria and processes relating to the development of 2012-2015 ACIP programme.
You will also be aware that the Council has had a major reduction in formula funding from the Government and revenue funding has been substantially cut from 2011 onwards.
These cuts have created the need to fill a significant budget gap which has resulted in a reduction in the overall budget available for the ACIP Programme.
We are now issuing an invitation to apply for the new ACIP scheme through a two stage process. As in previous years this will be a competitive process.
With the current financial constraints in mind, we would advise that you do not make any firm planning assumptions based upon ACIP funding. We would also advise all projects to have alternative financial plans in place.
How to apply
Stage 1
Stage 1 involves submitting an initial ‘expression of interest’ form outlining the scope of your project to be submitted by 2pm on 10th February 2012.

You must also fill out our Equalities survey
This survey does not form part of your assessment, but gives us essential data on the accessiblity of our ACIP programme.The deadline for submission of this survey is 2pm on 10th February 2012.
Stage 2
The Expression of Interest will be assessed by a team of officers and a panel will decide which projects will progress to Stage 2, at which time successful organisations will be required to submit more comprehensive information.
This is currently scheduled to take place in February and March 2012, with final decisions made by late April.You will be invited to submit a more detailed application form at Stage 2 by the end of March 2012.
