Feedback and comments

The Licensing Authority frequently receive applications for the grant or variation of premise licences or club premise certificates.

The applications shown are subject to the 28 day consultation period and only contain brief details.  Contact the Licencing Unit if you require more information.

Responsible Authorities

When an application is made for the grant or variation of a premise licence or club premise certificate, as well as sending the application to the Licensing Authority, a copy must also be sent to bodies known as Responsible Authorities.  View a list of Responsible Authorities.

They make representations (objections) to the Licensing Authority if they feel the application does not promote any or all of the four licensing objectives:

  • Prevention of crime and disorder.
  • Public safety.
  • Prevention of public nuisance.
  • The protection of children from harm.

Interested parties

The Licensing Act also allows Interested Parties to make a representation either to support an application, or not to support an application as the case may be for the grant or variation of a Premises Licence or a Club Premises Certificate.  Interested parties can include:

  • Persons living in the vicinity of the premises.
  • Bodies representing persons living in that vicinity of the premises, such as a Residents Association.
  • Persons involved in a business in the vicinity of the premises.
  • Bodies representing persons involved in such businesses, for example a trade association who may also make representations.
  • Any Liverpool City Councillor.
