Community development
Community development is about us working with people in local areas. By doing this we can share and develop our skills, knowledge and experience.
We can reach decisions together.
To make this work we need people to be involved in issues that affect them in their area. We want people to comment on and have a say in the standard and types of service they use.
We want to:
- work with and develop strong local groups who tell us what they want and need
- include local people in planning and decision making
- help public, private and voluntary groups to involve local people in what they do.
We do this in many ways.
We do not employ community development workers directly. We provide grant aid to a number of groups in local areas and the voluntary sector.
For details about this contact our Community Resources Unit on 0151 225 2627.
You can also contact Liverpool Charity and Voluntary Services (LCVS) who help us to decide how we work with local groups across the City on 0151 236 7728.
They also run Liverpool Community Network for community organisations in the City.
