The Schools' Parliament
Liverpool Schools' Parliament (LSP) is for young people who care about the issues that affect young people.
Since 2001, all primary, secondary and special schools in Liverpool, with an active school council have been eligible to join.
The Parliament gives an opportunity for the young people of Liverpool to have a voice on matters of concern.
The LSP have been heard by the people who have influence in the running of the city of Liverpool.
Speakers in the past have included Warren Bradley, Leader of the Council, and the Lord Mayor.
The Parliament meets as 2 separate Houses. The Upper House represents young people aged 11-19, and the Lower House represents those aged 7-11.
At the moment around 200 children and young people attend LSP meetings.
Parliament has influenced the decision to extend free Leisure Passes to young people in education aged 16+.
LSP have also promoted the idea of using Merseyside to trial free bus passes to all young people in full-time education.
MSPs (Members of the Schools' Parliament), also have the chance to attend meetings and events, outside of Liverpool, often in different countries.
This year, representatives from LPS have attended 'World Village' in Norway and conferences in Strasbourg and Portugal.
