Liverpool City Council - Support for the unemployed

Support for the unemployed

This site offers lots of useful resources and links to help you find work in the Merseyside area.

This includes 'Directions' a new guide to local services that help people into education, training and employment, information on the local Jobs, Education & Training (JET) Service and local job centres. There is also a web page on regional training opportunities.

In addition, Worktrain offers jobs and careers information from Jobcentre Plus. It offers you the choice of searching for jobs, training, careers, childcare and voluntary work.

You can also find your local Connexions partnership where you can talk to one of their personal advisors or, alternatively, use the Connexions' online careers database, jobs4u which has lots of different career options.

For information on volunteering visit do-it.org.uk. For information and news on workforce skills development within the voluntary and community sector - for paid staff, volunteers and trustees - visit the Voluntary sector skills website.
