Victim support
Victim Support is a government-funded voluntary organisation. If you have been a victim of crime Victim Support can provide free confidential support, practical help and advice.

If the police catch the person accused of the crime and the case goes to court, you can also get help from Victim Support's witness service.

If you have been a victim of crime and would like to talk to someone in confidence, you can phone the national support line on 0845 30 30 900.                                                                                                                      The line is open:

  • 9.00 am to 9.00 pm Monday to Friday
  • 9.00 am to 7.00 pm at weekends
  • 9.00 am to 5.00 pm on public holidays

You can find the contact details for your local Victim Support scheme on the Victim Support website.

In addition to the information here, the central government website www.direct.gov.uk offers help and support on tackling crime, including practical tips on how to report crimes and avoid scams.
