Liverpool City Council - Our CPA scores

Our CPA scores

The CPA (comprehensive performance assessment) scorecard gives information on how our main services (for example, benefits, social care and housing) are performing and any progress over the last year.

Our 2007 score

For 2006 the Audit Commission gave us an overall rating of 1 star - improving adequately

This is worse that our 2006 score of '2 stars - improving adequately'. The reduction in score is due to the 'use of resources' score declining from a 2 in 2006 to 1 in 2007. The CPA rules (MS Word [332.5Kb] opens in new window) dictate that councils awarded a 1 for use of resources can only score a 1 star rating overall.

Our 2007 scorecard (PDF [38.2Kb] opens in new window) gives all our scores (scores are between 1 and 4, with 1 being lowest and 4 the highest), with our main services scoring:

  • 4 for benefits
  • 3 for children and young people
  • 2 for culture
  • 3 for environment
  • 1 for housing
  • 3 for social care (adults)
  • 1 for use of resources

Our council ability score was 3. This score is based on our corporate assessment which was carried out in 2002. We had a further corporate assessment in October 2007, but its score and report will not be published until 19 February 2008. See our corporate assessment page to find out more information on this.
