Purpose of the exercise:
This exercise will monitor the effectiveness of Liverpool's anti-bullying strategy
and update the consultation data gained during the 2006 consultation exercise
Who was consulted and how:
A representative cross-section of school pupils and young people were consulted via questionnaires that were delivered through supported group work in schools.

The results were reported to:
- Social Inclusion Governors
- the Liverpool anti-bullying forum
- the council's executive board
What were the findings of the exercise:
The annual audit findings were reported to the Children's Services select committee on 24 January 2008. The findings identified that bullying in Liverpool had reduced by 9% amongst 7 to 11-year-lds. This impovement was also reported in the Ofsted TellUs2 report (Nov 2007) that indicated that children in Liverpool experienced bullying at a significantly lower rate than in other authority (by 10%).

What are the changes to the service brought about as a result of the consultation:
The findings of the audit have been circulated to all of the key partners who have responsibility for implementing key elements of the anti-bullying strategy. Next year, particular focus will be placed on responding to racial and homophobic bullying.
