Email: Janet.Taubman@liverpool.gov.uk.
Start date: 1 April 2008.
End date: 31 May 2008.
Purpose of the exercise:
This exercise will determine whether the annual training course provided by the Registrars' Service for authorised persons and the clergy meets the needs of the attendees of the course. Authorised persons are people, including the clergy, who are authorised by the Registrar General to register marriages.
Who was consulted and how:
Authorised persons and clergy were consulted via a feedback form given out at the end of the training course.
Who will the results of the exercise be reported to:
The results will be reported to the:
-
management team of the Register Office.
-
authorised persons and clergy who attended the training course.
What are the findings of the exercise:
100% of the attendees felt that the course content and presentation was very useful or useful, however they did think that a 'frequently asked questions' sheet and information on the procedure for Church of England marriage preliminaries would be useful.
What are the changes to the service brought about as a result of the consultation:
A 'frequently asked questions' sheet would be added to the course content for future years. Although the information about the Church of England marriage preliminaries procedures is outside of the Registry Office's remit, this information was sourced, passed onto the attendees of this year's course and would also be included in the course content for future years.
