Every Child Matters - Children and Young People's Plan

This year will see one of the most important steps taken to help secure an improvement in the quality of life for all children in Liverpool. Between now and 15th November 2005, we are conducting an extensive consultation with children, young people, parents, carers, agencies, partners and voluntary groups in order to plan for the future of Children's Services which will come into effect in April 2006 and take us forward towards the end of the decade.

We must have a clear vision which captures the imagination of children and young people as well as those who work directly to support them. This consultation provides an opportunity for everyone to express their views about how we can help to make children healthier, safer, enjoying and achieving throughout their education, participating as positive members of communities and securing their economic well-being.

Liverpool's Young People's Blog
Young people can have their say and discuss the Every Child Matters outcomes online.

"Every Child Matters in Liverpool" resource materials
These can be used in a variety of settings to obtain the views of children and young people, and those who work with them, on the priority actions for Children's Services over the next few years. It is very important that we obtain a strong breadth and depth of feedback to help shape our action planning for the future and that this reflects the full diversity of perspectives amongst stakeholders

A DVD has been produced by children and young people giving their views on each of the five outcome areas.

A CD-ROM containing a range of source materials has been produced.

After using the Consultation Pack DVD and CD Rom resource materials with stakeholders, key points or observations can be recorded using the feedback form, which will help in our analysis of responses, or download the feedback form (PDF [22.9Kb] opens in new window)

Every Liverpool Family Matters

A leaflet has been sent to every family in Liverpool as part of a city-wide consultation on the priorities to be addressed through the Children and Young People's Plan which will be implemented from April 2006.

Parents, carers and family members can have a real say about what really matters to them concerning their children growing up healthy, being safe, enjoying and achieving, being involved, and further education, training and employment.
