'How are we doing' user survey 2007 (Lifestyles)

Purpose of the exercise:

This exercise will determine the levels of satisfaction with the Lifestyles' service and high-light any matters for the improvement plan

Who will be consulted and how:

Lifestyle users will be consulted via a telephone survey

Who will the results of the exercise be reported to:

The results will be reported to:

  • the Sports and Recreation service's management team
  • Lifestyle service users      

What were the findings of the exercise:

The following came to light as a result of the consultation:

  • cleanliness, particularly in changing rooms needs to be improved
  • the vending service needs to be improved
  • there should be more fitness classes available
  • there is a general lack of awareness of some of the benefits that come with Lifestyle membership

What are the changes to the service brought about as result of the consultation:

The following changes will be made as a result of the consultation:

  • 12 centres will apply for QUEST (a quality standard for sports services - visit the QUEST website for more information)
  • the vending service is being reviewed
  • there are plans to increase training for staff and coaches to enable there to be more fitness classes
  • the service will be working with the Marketing service to review its marketing strategy for 2008 to increase awareness of the benefits of Lifestyles membership
