Purpose of the exercise:

This exercise will obtain further views on the updated principles and proposals contained in the Liverpool city region prospectus, which details the key challenges, assets and opportunities from which the Merseyside authorities (Liverpool, Wirral, Knowsley, Sefton, St. Helens and Halton) will deliver a shared vision for accelerated economic growth.

Who will be consulted and how:

A letter, with a copy of the Liverpool city region prospectus, will be sent to:

  • the leaders and chief executives of the six Merseyside councils.

  • regeneration directors.

  • the chief executives of Warrington, Chester, Cheshire and Deeside local authorities.

  • the North West Development Agency.

  • Government Office North West.

  • the chief executives of the 'core cities' (Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Nottinghamshire, Newcastle and Sheffield).

  • key public agency partners.

  • Chambers of Commerce.

  • private sector partners.

Who will the results of the exercise be reported to:

The results will be reported to Liverpool City council's executive board and to a meeting of Merseyside leaders and chief executives.
