Outcomes survey in sheltered accommodation

Purpose of the exercise:

This consultation measured the outcomes for service users of sheltered accommodation to enable the service to improve.

Who was consulted and how:

Sheltered housing residents were consulted via a self-completion survey

Who will the results of the exercise be reported to:

The results will be reported to the development manager then via the management team to the executive director, as appropriate.

What were the findings of the exercise:

The survey high-lighted people's need for more outside activity and, within the sheltered housing schemes, assistance in developing hobbies and interests.

What are the changes to the service brought about as a result of the consultation:

Sheltered accommodation residents have been involved in Capital of Culture projects (a concert at the Arena and dancing). A groundbreaking project that uses Wii consoles to promote fun exercise, in conjuction with Active Ageing and John Moores University, and pampering days put on by the Community Health team have started.
