Purpose of the exercise:
The purpose of the exercise is to provide a framework and advisory policy document for the gating order process.

Who was consulted and how:
Councillors, Merseyside Police, the Ramblers association and the Community Safety team were consulted via response forms and/or meetings.
Who will the results of the exercise be reported to:
The results of the exercise were reported to the Executive Board
What were the findings of the exercise:
As this was a consultation of a legally required document there weren't any large changes required by the consultees, only amendments to language etc.
What were the changes to the service brought about as a result of the exercise:
The policy has been amended for language etc and will now got to further consultation with councillors and other council departments (see the 2008/09 consultation for information).
