Purpose of the exercise:

The council has set up a website that will provide young people with information, advice and activity information. The council also wishes to provide this information in other formats. This exercise seeks to take the views of young people as to how these objectives can best be achieved.

Who will be consulted and how:

Focus group interviews will be held with groups of young people aged 13 - 19-years-old. A core group of young people will be selected from the focus groups to assist with the development of content material for the web site and promotional material.

The results will be reported to:

  • the council's executive board and neighbourhood committees
  • the Liverpool children and young people's board
  • the young people's 13 - 19+ sub-group
  • youth sub-groups   

What were the findings of the exercise:

The preferences of the respondents regarding the use of colour, style and presentation format, the use of text, artwork and photographs etc were recorded.

What were the changes to the service brought about as a result of the consultation:

The preferences of the respondents to the consultation were relayed to the Liverpool Direct Ltd Web team, who look after the website, and these influenced the final design of the website
