Purpose of the exercise:

This exercise sought the views of all relevant parties on the proposal to establish resourced SEN provision at Leamington Primary School. 

Who was consulted and how:

The following were consulted via the post and face-to-face meetings:

  • the governors, staff, parents and pupils of Leamington Primary School
  • the staff and governors of Bank View School
  • parents of pupils in interim speech and language provision who would be of primary school age in September 2007
  • all primary and special schools in Liverpool
  • the North West Strategic Health Authority
  • the Royal Liverpool Children's NHS Trust
  • the Liverpool Primary Care Trust
  • local members of parliament, Bob Wareing and Peter Kilfoyle
  • the Archdiocese
  • trade unions
  • the councillors for the Clubmoor ward

The results were reported to the council's executive board at their 8 June 2007 meeting

What were the findings of the exercise:

No objections to the proposal were received. However, some concerns and questions were raised. Read what these were, and the responses to them. (MS Word [35Kb] opens in new window)

The executive board agreed the report and for the statutory public notice of the intention to provide SEN provision at Leamington Primary to be published. This asked for any representations to be made by 9 August 2007.

No representations were made and the executive board gave their final approval at their 31 August 2007 meeting. Read the report and its appendices (appendix Aappendix Bappendix Cappendix D)

What are the changes to the service brought about as a result of the consultation

Following approval by the executive board, the proposed SEN provision at Leamington Primary School was created from 1 September 2007.
