Liverpool City Council's consultation strategy
Our consultation strategy 'Listening, Learning, Leading'
provides an account of the principles and procedures that guide our approach to consultation.
Our consultation principles
When carrying out consultation we will:
- be clear about the purpose and scope of each consultation exercise we undertake
- give clear information
- tell people, when we begin a consultation exercise,:
- why we are consulting
- what we are consulting on, the context, purpose and parameters
- who we are consulting with
- what will happen after the consultation exercise is completed
- how feedback will be given to consultees
- the name and contact number of the person managing the consultation
- ensure sufficient time is allowed for consultees to respond
- consult people in different ways, taking account of the different communities in the city
- give feedback on the results of the consultation exercises we undertake and, where require, explain the reasons particular options have been taken.
