What are Caldicott standards?
Caldicott standards are a set of principles produced in the 'Caldicott Report', published in 1997 by the Government to protect 'personally identifiable information'. Although meant initially for the Health Service, these standards are now being introduced into councils with Social Service responsibilities, and will be extended into all council areas.
