Liverpool City Council - Alt Valley NA

Alt Valley neighbourhood agreement

The Alt Valley neighbourhood covers the Clubmoor, Norris Green, Croxteth, Warbreck County and Fazakerley. Its neighbourhood agreement (NA) is the primary planning document for the neighbourhood.

The neighbourhood has recreational assets, such as Walton Hall Park, Goodison and Croxteth Country Park and desirable estates, such as Croxteth Park. It also has excellent communications, including the inner and outer ring roads of Queens Drive, the M57, the A580 eastern gateway and the Merseyrail network.

However, the neighbourhood also has areas of deprivation and disorder, such as the Daneville and Flowers estates. These areas have high levels of unoccupied houses and anti-social behaviour, and this discourages new tenants from moving in.

Governance, delivery and performance monitoring of Alt Valley neighbourhood agreement

The political leadership required to oversee the implementation of the agreement will be provided by the eighteen councillors of the Alt Valley neighbourhood. They will also hold all partners to account for their performance. The committee, including advisory members, will meet three times a year to monitor and review progress, including that against the measures in Appendix 1.

The agreement will not set out all the actions that will be taken to achieve the neighbourhood's priorities. These will be defined and driven through the various theme-based neighbourhood partnership working groups (MS Word [28.5Kb] opens in new window) to be established within the neighbourhood, and made up of council staff, partner agencies and local councillors.

The co-ordination of the agreement will be carried out by the Alt Valley neighbourhood management service, with the neighbourhood manager, John Outram, having overall operational responsibility. The neighbourhood team can be contacted via on 0151 233 3018 or via email at  altvalleyneighbourhood@liverpool.gov.uk

Further information on Alt Valley's theme-based neighbourhood partnership working groups and performance reports will be posted here when it becomes available.
