Community Charter

The City Council has recently published the second edition of the Community Charter, an innovative document and builds upon our first edition which was well received in 2005. There is a Charter for each of the 10 Neighbourhood Areas across the City and it has been delivered to every home in Liverpool.
The Charter sets out the standards of service delivery that local residents can expect to receive from the City Council and its partners. Building upon feedback received from local residents and Ward Councillors, 10 editions have been produced to reflect the areas covered by local Neighbourhood Committees.
The Charter places great emphasis on the importance that local residents can have in making their neighbourhoods cleaner and safer, and includes a series of "call to actions".
Look out for your edition of the Charter and hear how you can help to make your neighbourhood a better place to live and work.
This Charter sets out the minimum standards for a number of City Council services, including:
- Street cleansing
- Refuse collection
- Highways and street lighting repairs
- Housing repairs and allocations
- Attainment in schools
- Library provision
Other services are being considered for future inclusion in the Charter.
The Council's 10 Neighbourhood Committees are responsible for ensuring that service standards in the Charter are met.
