Annex 2: Performance indicators 2003/04 (with targets to 2006/07)
These schedules show our performance indicator (PI) out-turns for the past three years and our targets for the next three years, as required by the Government. They are set out under our corporate aims (follow the links below).
The reference numbers in the first column of the schedules are either for best value (BV), local public service agreement (LPSA), performance assessment framework (PAF) or local indicators.
The out-turns for 2003/04 are accurate to the best of our knowledge at the time of publication (end of May 2004). These figures are subject audit and will be confirmed in our return to the Audit Commission in September 2004. Any significant variance between confirmed out-turns and those given here will be reported in next years plan.
Met average (col. 8) is the average target level set by the 36 metropolitan authorities. Met top quartile (col. 9) is the average target level set by the top performing metropolitan authorities based on 2004/05 targets published in 2002/03
Green cells indicate that the performance in 2003/04 (col. 7) has improved compared to the previous year for that our target for 2004/05 (col. 11) is in the top met quartile (i.e. best performance band).
Red cells indicate that the performance in 2003/04 (col. 7) has deteriorated compared to the previous year or that our target for 2004/05 (col. 11) is below the met top quartile with an indication of the improvement gap to be bridged.
Shaded cells indicate where information is not required as a result of the changing statutory requirement or is not available because of a lack of historical information.
