Leading Liverpool.
The success of the Capital of Culture year and our recent service and corporate improvements have put the council, and the city, on a much better footing to address future challenges.
Over the next year, the council will build on recent progress through further joint action with our partners in the region, city and neighbourhoods. We will ensure that our plans at each level are ambitious, but achievable, and that our governance and accountability arrangements are effective in overseeing performance and delivery.
This table
shows the principal plans and people in place at the various tiers, which together will deliver better outcomes for Liverpool's residents.
Each of these plans is supported by a range of operational action plans (available via the council's website) including the:
-
children and young people's plan.
The council and the Primary Care Trust are also working together to establish a suite of joint commissioning strategies. that will address the specific needs of different client groups.
The council's ongoing corporate improvement programme, our increasingly effective strategic partnerships and the city's renewed self-confidence and strengthened economic base means that we are now much better equipped to:
-
continuously improve our services.
-
weather the national recession.
-
respond to the government's new inspection regime, the comprehensive area assessment, (CAA).
-
finally rid ourselves of our 'most deprived city' status by realising our ambition.
