Electoral Services - Liverpool
Introduction
The service has two main areas of work both of which form the basis of the democratic process upon which government both national and local depends.
These are:
- Compiling and maintaining the electoral register - this is the register of all those who are entitled to vote. If a person is not on the register they can't vote and may not be able to get credit.
- Organising and running elections and referenda - European, Parliamentary and City.
The Electoral Service will be based on the following standards:
- Staff will be polite, helpful and properly trained for the job.
- We will be fair, open and honest and respect confidentiality and privacy.
- We will listen to your comments and improve our service where possible.
- There will be an expectation that staff will be treated in a civil manner, and will not be subject to abusive or threatening behavior or language, or violence of any kind
