This committee is responsible for:
- Liverpool as a Capital of Culture city
- Monitoring and evaluating the sport and recreation strategy for the city
- to ensure that a co-ordinated and strategically planned approach is adopted that will achieve the implementation of the approved strategies in relation to tourism and play
- monitoring, evaluating and influencing the city and the city's regions tourism strategy
- monitoring, evaluating and influencing the city's arts and creative industries strategies
- monitoring and evaluating the service delivery and performance of the Libraries and Information Services
- Community safety, both city-wide and area based strategy and initiatives
- overseeing the strategic approach to the management and use of the city's civic and historic buildings
- overseeing and evaluating the Youth service
- responsibility for the Youth Offending service
- overseeing a programme of fundamental performance reviews
- overseeing risk management arrangements within the service area
- monitoring the implementation of earlier agreed service improvement plans
- monitoring national and local performance indicators
- monitoring the implementation of service improvement plans
