Regeneration select committee
There are eleven elected members and six lay members on this select committee.

The remit of this committee incorporates inward investment, development, planning, transport, asset/property management, enterprise and innovation, culture and its legacy, tourism and the local enterprise growth initiative (SLEGI).
The committee will also assist the council in meeting the targets set for the council's aim 1 - to the city's economy and by scrutinising the activity under the aim's four priorities:

make Liverpool a first choice for investment and growth by working with the private, not-for-profit and public sectors quickly and effectively with an emphasis on the quality of infrastructure.

promote enterprise, attract investment throuhg developing the city's co-ordination and offer across the city region to provide scale, connectivity and sustainability of its economy.

increase business density and GVA (gross value added) beyond national levels for city regions to deliver an environment taht provides opportunity, employment and well-being for our citizens, businesses and investors.

exploit the city's wider cultural advantage to attract and retain visitors, workers and residents.
The committee will review performance against aim 1 by monitoring, scrutinising and making recommendations on:

strategies and delivery plans for regeneration at city-wide and area-based partnership level (including city centre), encompassing land use planning, development, inward investment and local employment, including the city renewal strategy and the city economic development statement.

key infrastructure and development projects.
-
work with private, not-for-profit and public sectors to promote tourism, enterprise and attract investment through developing the city's co-ordination and offer across the city region.

considering service options and implications prior to budget recommendations being made to the executive board, and to consider the outcomes of service reviews.

the operation of the Sefton and Liverpool enterprise growth initiative (SLEGI).

monitoring the performance of planning functions.

the transport strategy and plan.

the management of the council's assets.
-
the cultural strategy and the legacy of the Capital of Culture.

scrutinising decisions of the executive board and the executive members for Assets and Development and Enterprise and Tourism.

receiving and monitoring progress on improvement plans arising from external inspection reports.
