This committee is responsible for:

  • ensuring that strategies and delivery plans for regeneration at city-wide and area based partnership level (including city centre), encompassing land use planning, development, inward investment and local employment  make Liverpool a first choice for investment and growth

  • developing an infrastructure which provides opportunity, employment and well-being for our citizens, business and investors

  • working with private, not for profit and public sectors  to promote enterprise and attract investment through developing the city's co-ordination and offer across the city region

  • monitoring  the performance of planning functions

  • ensuring that transport and planning strategies are sustainable and contribute to the quality of infrastructure throughout the city

  • monitoring assets and acquisitions

  • receiving and monitoring progress on improvement plans arising from  external inspection reports

  • promoting tourism,  the arts and provide opportunities for creative Industries to flourish and develop

  • developing the Cultural strategy and the legacy from Capital of Culture to ensure that the city's cultural advantage continues to attract visitors, workers and residents

  • the operation of the Sefton and Liverpool enterprise growth initiative (SLEGI)
