Environment portfolio

Councillor Berni Turner is the executive member for this portfolio. She has specific political responsibility for the development of strategies that promote sustainable communities and environmental sustainability. This includes responsilbity for:

• parks and the environment.

• recycling.

• streetscape services.

• environmental enforcement.

• climate change.

• cemeteries and cremetoria.

• allotments.

• city markets.

• trading standards.

Cllr. Turner also has lead responsiblity for the the planning and delivery of the 'Year of the environment 2009' and is the council's historic environment champion.

Councillor Phil Moffatt is the assistant executive member for this portfolio.
