The executive management team

. Each member of the team, including the chief executive, manages a portfolio, or range, of services. They are also, with elected members, responsible for delivering the council's vision, aims, priorities and values.
The members of the executive management team are:
- Colin Hilton, chief executive
- Tony Hunter, executive director for community services
- Phil Halsall, executive director for finance and legal services
- John Kelly, executive director for regeneration
- Stuart Smith, executive director for children's services
