Community Safety

Community safety service works in partnership with other council services and partners to address issues such as crime, disorder, anti-social behaviour, fear of crime, drugs / substance misuse, abandoned vehicles, and environmental crime related issues.  

The Community Safety Service consists of the following areas: 

  • Citysafe Team - provides support to the Citysafe Partnership and includes performance management and support, data analysis, marketing, domestic violence, alleygating, and monitoring of racial incidents 
  • Citywatch - includes CCTV and alarm monitoring, street crime wardens, enforcement and monitoring, and guarding services
  •  Investigations Support Unit 
  •  Safer Neighbourhood Services - includes the Anti-Social Behaviour Unit, Inclusion Team, Enforcement Team, Regeneration Team, The Independent Mediation Service  and Legal Team
  • Robbery Reduction
  • Drug & Alcohol Action Team (DAAT)
  • Drugs Intervention Programme
  • Home Office Community Justice Centre. 

We also have links with the Youth Offending Service and the Citysafe Police Team.
