Mobile learning centre

The Adult Learning Service operates a mobile learning centre. This is a single-decker bus, which goes around the city to deliver training. The bus is fully kitted out with the latest Internet equipment that enables access to the Internet and Email facilities.
Users can have computer lessons on board and 'surf' the net for free. The Mobile Learning Centre can accommodate 10 people at a time. There are two drivers who are also qualified tutors. An ESOL tutor also attends some of the sessions to provide support to some of the learners whose first language is not English.
The bus is fully accessible and has a range of adaptations to assist disabled learners.
The mobile centre travels all over the city, taking part in many organised events and enabling people to try various activities and courses. The courses include a wide range of ICT courses, advice on CV writing and applying for jobs, Skills for Life and ESOL.
You can also find out about our full range of courses on offer throughout the year at Learning Centres across the city.
