Make Childcare Your Business

If you are interested in becoming a childcare provider, we can provide advice, information and guidance.

Our Early Years Registration Officer holds regular briefing sessions called "Pathways" sessions for those who are considering becoming a childminder. These sessions cover all aspects of becoming a childminder, including how to meet the 14 National Standards and begin the registration process.

Anyone wishing to become a childminder must attend one of these sessions in order to qualify for any start up funding which may be available.

Day care providers (day nurseries, creche provision, out of school clubs and sessional care) can also benefit from advice from the Early years Registration Officer. Support for day care providers is offered on an individual basis and is tailored to meet the needs of individual childcare providers.

Day care providers may apply directly to Ofsted for registration, however we strongly recommend that they receive pre registration advice to support  an application.

The Early years Registration Officer Nicky Walsh can be contacted on 0151 225 4916 or alternatively by email Nicky.Walsh@liverpool.gov.uk
