Language tuition
Ethnic Minority and Traveller Achievement Service (EMTAS) works with schools, communities and other agencies.
They help raise the achievement of Minority Group Learners.
They support:
- Asylum Seeker and Refugee children.
- Traveller Children.
- Black & Dual Heritage pupils.
- Pupils studying community languages (GCSE & A level.)
- Pupils learning English as a second language.
English as an Additional Language (EAL)
The EAL team provides support to children who speak English as a second language.
A programme of learning is set for each child. This is based around their skills and abilities.
Teaching assistants help pupils integrate at their school.
