Liverpool Music Support Service is committed to supporting music in schools across the city. We are a thriving service with over 60 skilled instrumental and vocal tutors and teachers, musicians, composers and music leaders, all proud to be working in over 120 schools in Liverpool.

Over the years, the Liverpool Music Support Service has built up a reputation for providing exciting opportunities for young people to make music together and, in turn, nurture musical talent from the initial experience of picking up an instrument to shaping some of the finest young musicians in our city.

Alongside the tuition we provide through schools we offer an extensive array of after school activities for young musicians to access.

Evening Music Centres
Close to 1500 pupils take part in one of our ensembles each week. This is something of which we are really proud.
We currently have 2 evening music centres offering specialist tuition and ensemble provision. A range of musical activities and ensembles take place at these centres, everything from string ensembles to jazz guitar groups, choirs and brass bands.

Saturday Morning Music Centre

Our Saturday Morning Music Centre takes place at the Arts Centre on Myrtle Street. This centre of excellence is home to the Liverpool Youth Orchestra and over 15 other ensembles and music classes.

Here, over 400 young musicians aged from 3 to 18 are offered tuition, ensemble and concert experience and even the chance to tour oversees. A range of musical activities from early years singing classes, wind bands, brass groups, the Liverpool Youth Choir, jazz ensembles, African drumming and our acclaimed youth orchestra all take place between 9:20 -12:20 at the Arts Centre.

Access to Saturday Morning Music Centre is by audition only. This gives our tutors the chance to consider the ensembles most suited to your child's needs.
