Section 52 budget
Local Authorities are required to submit a budget statement each year in respect of expenditure on education services at both school and authority level.
The statement is intended to provide a clear picture of the authority's planned spending:
- how much the LEA intends to spend on the LEA Budget outside the Schools Budget;
- how much the LEA is proposing to retain centrally within the Schools Budget for school services;
- how the local formula is working to produce budget shares for each school in the LEA's area.
