 Environmental crime FAQ

Do I need to give my details when reporting environmental crime?

No, but it will help our enforcement staff if they have a contact number and need to ask you any questions. All calls are treated in confidence and we will not divulge your identity without your permission.

It is natural for a dog to foul - why should I stop my dog doing it in public places?

1. You can train your dog to do its business at home before you take it out.

2. Dog faeces is not just unsightly and unpleasant, it presents a real health risk and carries a serious disease that's caused by a parasite's eggs found in dog faeces.

What will happen once I report an incident of environmental crime?

We will capture all of the details and forward these to the Pest Control Team.  You will hear from an enforcement officer within 5 days.  But don't assume nothing is happening in the meantime.  We may need to set up some surveillance or check out the information that you've given to us.  But don't worry, anything you tell us will be treated in the strictest confidence
