Liverpool City Council - Training

Food quality and production training

If you run a business that involves preparing, serving, or handling food, all staff must have training appropriate to their work activity.

The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) basic foundation certificate covers the minimum level of training in most cases. The manager must also have appropriate training, such as the CIEH intermediate or advanced certificate.

The main local provider of training is the Liverpool John Moores University: contact on 0151 231 2121. For further advice on food safety telephone Liverpool Direct on 0151 233 3000, or e-mail environmental.health@liverpool.gov.uk addressing it to the Food Safety Unit.
